There are many kinds of pets.
Some species can "escape", others can be introduced into nature only through carelessness or with the deliberate help of man. Tropical fish in aquariums cannot become invasive in any other known way than by deliberate act. Some other species are more likely to escape, for example, mammals or birds from poorly maintained outdoor cages or habitats.
Although pets can be released into the wild anywhere, there is evidence that many are released near concentrated centres or public roads.
Eg. specimens of the red-eared turtle (Trachemys scripta elegans) rabbits, mice, rats, tiger parrots, guinea pigs, goldfish, koi carp, black-spotted carp are usually released in freshwater areas often visited by people, different types of ponds and lakes in public city parks and other recreational parks.

4 STEPS TO IMPROVE PET KEEPING:

1. It is an indisputable rule that an animal cannot become invasive unless it is permanently released or allowed to escape. Ornamental plants and animals, as well as pets, will not be a problem if they remain in gardens, aquariums or homes.

2. Water from aquariums or garden ponds (where fish, amphibians, reptiles are kept outdoors) should never be poured into natural water bodies. Such water should be poured either into the sewer (not into stormwater drains) or disposed of so that the water is quickly absorbed into the ground.

3. When disposing of vegetation, from insectariums we need to be careful not to throw eggs or larvae. Waste from such collections is best disposed of in sealed bags or containers.

4. Sterile individuals cannot reproduce. In this way, the potential damage they can cause in the event of escape or release into the wild is significantly reduced.
